  • Identity and license verification documents (for Pros)
  • Payment information (processed and stored by Stripe — we do not store card numbers)
  • Project descriptions, photos, and messages sent through the Platform
  • Reviews and ratings you submit

Information collected automatically:

  • Log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, time and date of visits)
  • Device information (device type, operating system, unique device identifiers)
  • Location data (ZIP code and approximate location for matching purposes)
  • Usage data (features used, actions taken, session duration)
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 7)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Platform and its features
  • Match homeowners with qualified Pros based on location, skills, availability, and trust score
  • Process payments and manage SafePay escrow transactions
  • Verify Pro licenses, insurance, and background information
  • Send transactional communications (booking confirmations, payment receipts, dispute updates)
  • Send marketing communications (with your consent, and with opt-out available at any time)
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent or illegal activity
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve the matching algorithm and platform experience

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following circumstances:

With other users: When a homeowner and Pro are matched, we share the information necessary to facilitate the service relationship — including name, general location, project details, and contact information.

With service providers: We share information with third-party vendors who help us operate the Platform, including Stripe (payment processing), cloud hosting providers, and analytics services. These providers are contractually bound to use your information only as directed by us.

For legal compliance: We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of HomePro.bot, our users, or the public.

In a business transfer: If HomePro.bot is acquired, merged, or undergoes a change of control, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial transaction records, which we retain for 7 years).
